…a man in his 70’s, the other in his 60’s.
The county death toll now stands at 433…nearly half, 80 years of age and older.

4 new cases were reported on Wednesday, with no new fatalities.

A man wanted for fleeing from authorities by car and by foot earlier this month in Vermilion Township has been found and arrested.
According to Vermilion Police, 39-year-old James Thompson was taken into custody on Wednesday after being found in a vehicle in the Mill Hollow Reservation in Vermilion.

An update on the McGuan Park Revitalization Project in Norwalk…
According to Norwalk Ohio News.com, a grand opening celebration is planned for August 28th; with parts of the park to be ready to go before then.
It includes an all-new basketball court to open in June and a new pump track that’s scheduled to open in July….with groundbreaking for an all-abilities playground to take place in mid-July and open later in the summer.

Ford has announced, they are reducing production at 8 facilities, including the Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake.
The reduction will take place over three weeks, beginning the week of May 31st.
Ford cites a global semi-conductor shortage.

Captain Rick Perry has been on the job for more than 30 years, serving in a variety of capacities, including time spent as Interim Fire Chief.

The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office will soon have 8 new vehicles.
The Lorain County Commissioner have signed off on a 396-thousand-dollar contract for 6 Ford Interceptor SUV’s and 2 hybrid Interceptors.

Approximately $5 million in federal funding is headed to the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky.
According to the Sandusky Register, the money is meant to help with the increasing costs caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

With Goodtime 1 ferryboat owner Joe Lamb announcing the closing of its operations in Sandusky, a GoFundme fundraiser page has been created by local supporters to help try and save the business.
The fundraising goal has been set at $350,000, to pay for the remaining costs from a 5-year ‘dry dock’ inspection.
As of this morning, over $12,000 has been raised.

The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced plans for a final push, to finish the Route 20 widening project in North Ridgeville.
Monday, crews will begin prepping for a final layer of asphalt…which is scheduled to be applied the week of June 1st.
O-DOT says, work will be done day and night…there will be lane closures, temporary driveway closures and traffic-control at intersections.
