In Huron County COVID-19 figures…

7 new cases were reported on Tuesday, with the death toll remaining at 120.

On Saturdays, beginning May 22nd, Fisher-Titus in Norwalk will be holding COVID-19 vaccine clinics for those aged 12 to 18 at Fisher-Titus Pediatrics, on Benedict Avenue.  

First doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be administered, and second dose appointments will be made when scheduling the first dose.

Appointments are required for these clinics.

In addition, drive-through clinics are available for those aged 12 and up at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

Drive-thru clinics are held Mondays from 10 am – 6 pm and Wednesdays from 8 am – 4 pm.

No appointments are required for the drive-thru clinics.

Lorain County Health Commissioner Dave Covell says, his department is fielding questions from restaurant owners regarding the lifting of most Ohio COVID health orders on June 2nd.

During yesterday’s meeting of the county’s “Community Protection Team”, Covell said restaurants will have options…one being…offering a ‘vaccinated section’…like those once used for smokers and non-smokers.

He also recommended keeping some masks on hand…even if it’s for the next FLU season.

It appears, Ohioans have the fever…the Vax-a-Million Fever.

According to the Ohio Department of Health…Day One…hundreds of thousands of people vaccinated for COVID-19, entered online, for the chance to win 1-million-dollars.

Another 60-thousand called in to register.

A man from Port Clinton has been indicted in connection with a fatal crash.

According to the Sandusky Register, 68-year-old Danny Wamsley faces charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and driving under the influence.

Wamsley allegedly drove left-of-center on Route 53 last December and struck another vehicle head-on.

Wamsley has pleaded ‘not guilty’.

34-year-old Adam Borror was killed in the crash.

Police in several communities are on the lookout for 2 Dodge Chargers involved in a high-speed chase early Monday morning on Route 57 near Route 2 in Elyria.

One is green, the other, white.

Police say, speeds reached 100-miles-an-hour, with the suspects getting away.

Police believe, one of the cars was involved in a recent shooting in Lorain.

A rash of accidents Tuesday afternoon in Norwalk…

The Norwalk Reflector reports that 3 accidents took place on Route 601.

-A 2-car minor injury fender-bender at Route 20

-A 2-car non-injury accident at Wells Road

-And a 3-car minor injury crash at Route 20

The city of North Ridgeville is moving ahead with plans, to place a police levy on the ballot in November.

Proceeds would be used to build a new police station on Ranger Way, near the city’s new fire station.

The city of Oberlin wants city residents and businesses to know;

There will be a CITYWIDE blackout Sunday morning from 8 until noon, so First Energy can repair a major power line that supplies electricity to Oberlin.

A Norwalk tradition will take place this summer. 

The City of Norwalk has announced that The Lion’s Club Independence Day parade will occur on Monday, July 5th.

Information on the city’s fireworks will be announced later.

Tonight, the City of Elyria and Lorain County Community College will host an in-person and virtual event, to inform residents about a new Job Training Program.

The Skill City Promise is a first-of-its-kind partnership between the city and the college…focused on providing free education to Elyria residents through short-term certificate programs.

Tonight’s session at LCCC and online will begin at 6.

A second session is scheduled for June 7th.
