Huron County saw 12 new cases on Monday to equal 122 total cases. This comes after 13 cases were reported in the county on Sunday.
Erie County had 1 new case reported Monday for a total of 216.
Statewide, there was a spike of 700+ new cases on Monday to take the state over the 45,500 mark for total cases. The 21-day, average increase per day is 455.
There are over 2,700 total fatalities in Ohio, an increase of four since Sunday, significantly below the 21-day average of 24.

No was home at the time when the porch of a house on Route 250 caught fire Monday afternoon in Perkins Township.
According to the Sandusky Register, the blaze caused minimal damage as an employee from Corso’s Garden Center next door put the fire out before emergency personnel arrived.
The cause of the fire is undetermined.

The United Way of Greater Lorain County has renewed its commitment to the “Common View Community Collaborative”, with a 3-year grant totaling 282-thousand-dollars.
The goal of Common View is to improve health-knowledge, develop life-skills, and avoid specific risky behaviors for middle school students in the Clearview, Firelands and Midview School systems.

Police say, 39 year old Duran Mims was arrested last week after crashing into a tree stump on Lake Avenue.

The city of Amherst in moving ahead with emergency repairs to a road that leads into Crownhill Cemetary.
Engineers say, there is a massive sinkhole under the road, making the area, dangerous.

A major drug arrest occurred just over a week ago in central Ohio.
During a traffic stop in Madison County, State Highway Patrol troopers say they seized nearly 600 pounds of marijuana from a 28 year-old California man worth $2.5 million.
The man faces up to eight years in prison and up to a $15,000 fine, if convicted.

Over $750 was raised for the future home of Norwalk and St. Paul football and track during the Norwalk Knights of Columbus “Ribfest” sale over the weekend at Miller’s Grocery Store…as reported by Norwalk Ohio News.com.
The money will go to the Whitney Field Improvement Project, which includes a new synthetic turf football playing surface and new all-weather track.
The project is scheduled to be completed by the upcoming school year.

Erie County has been named one of 45 local health departments in the state that are sharing $795,000 in grant funding from the Ohio EPA for mosquito control activities.
The Erie County Health Department is set to receive over $13,000 to help with mosquito surveillance, breeding source reduction, trash and tire removal and community outreach.
