Sandusky Police are investigating a shooting that left two men hurt.
According to the Sandusky Register, the shooting took place early Friday near the Dog House Bar at Jefferson and McDonough streets.
Both victims are 28 year-olds from Sandusky.
No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.

Huron County had an increase of 13 new cases on Sunday, bumping their total to 110.
Erie County has 217 total cases as of Sunday, according to the State Department of Health.
Statewide, Ohio has 44,800+ cases, an increase of around 1,700 cases over the weekend.

Norwalk High School has sent a letter to parents informing them that a child that had been athletic training in the school’s Reagan Complex has had close contact with someone who has COVID-19.
The student in question has been quarantined from training for 14 days.

Testing for COVID 19 will be offered today at the Rite Aid store at 27th and Broadway in Lorain.
It’ll be a self-swab, drive-thru operation, overseen by Rite Aid pharmacists.

Two residents of Columbia Station are due in court on drug charges.
The Feds and the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force arrested 45 year-old Bruce McKenzie and 30 year old Ashley Smith at a home on Plum Creek Drive.

The Law says, they confiscated suspected meth and heroin.

The all-clear has been sounded in Wellington.
Water service has been restored, and it’s safe to drink.
Service was disrupted early Saturday by a water main break, but late last night, Wellington announced, water was flowing safely, once more.

Governor Mike DeWine has signed a number of bills into law.
Those include House Bill 65, which requires child daycare centers to provide parental notice of a serious risk violation; as well as House Bill 164, which prohibits public schools from restricting a student’s religious expression while at school.

The $10,000 fundraising goal for the Norwalk’s 4th of July fireworks show has been exceeded.
According to Norwalk Ohio news.com, it only took a week for the Norwalk community to raise over $12,000; with the city to receive another $10,000 from Norwalk VFW Post 2743, who previously agreed to match donations up to 10 grand.

While many communities have cancelled 4th of July fireworks, there WILL be a celebration in Avon.
The city and the Lake Erie Crushers have teamed up for the event.
The stadium will NOT be open, but visitors will be allowed to park their cars at the stadium and watch from their cars or from just outside, keeping ‘social distancing’.

This is National Lightning Safety Awareness Week and the National Weather Service encourages all Ohioans to know what to do before, during, and after thunderstorms; and to practice severe weather safety and preparedness throughout the summer.
Three people have died after being struck by lightning in the United States this year.
Last year, 20 people in a total of 13 states died from being struck by lightning.
Officials say to remember the phrase “when the thunder roars, go indoors.”

Huron County Creating Healthy Communities, through Huron County Public Health, is seeking input from the community on a county-wide bicycle and pedestrian map.
The group wants to create a safe and more connected bicycle and pedestrian network that increases access for both transportation and recreation.
Now through July 24th, the draft of a bicycle and pedestrian network map will be shared virtually at www.huroncohealth.com/atp to the public to seek input.

The Lorain County Treasurer’s Office has announced; they’ve processed nearly 133-thousand real estate tax and special assessment bills, and residents should receive those bills by this week.
Payment must be made or postmarked by July 10th.
However, they say, property-owners having difficulties due to COVID-19 should contact the Treasurer’s Office as soon as possible.

An update on U.S. Census numbers…
As a state, Ohio has a 66 percent response rate, five percent higher than the national average.
The top responding county in Ohio is Medina County at nearly 79 percent.
The least-responding county has been Ottawa County at 47 percent.
Erie County checks in at a 63 percent completion rate while Huron County sits at 69 percent.
Beginning next month, Census workers will begin visiting homes who haven’t responded.
