Huron County Public Health is closely monitoring three outbreaks of COVID-19.

The outbreaks are located at three different farms, each being in Willard.

There are now 127 confirmed COVID-19 cases within Huron County.  Of that total, at least 36 cases are likely connected to the outbreaks.

State COVID-19 numbers saw a spike yesterday…

590 more cases were reported Tuesday…with 466 being the 21 day average

31 deaths reported Tuesday…with 23 fatalities being the 21 day average

Governor Mike DeWine today announced two public awareness campaigns aimed at spreading awareness of COVID-19 prevention measures that impact the well-being of Ohioans and the Ohio economy.

DeWine said the message of the ads are clear…he said…by continuing to practice good prevention, we can do two things at once, help stop the spread of COVID-19, and responsibly and safely get back to work.

Two men have pled ‘guilty’ to federal charges…and a third is awaiting trial…after being arrested earlier this year in Elyria.

49 year-old Renzo Pimental-Arias, 46 year-old Ricardo Labrador-Ortiz and 38 year old Guillermo Cruz-Guerrero were investigated for identity theft after an attempted purchase of Jet Skis from Johnny K’s Powersports in Elyria.

Fireworks in Sandusky have become a problem to residents. 

Sandusky Police Chief John Orzech told Fox 8 News that his department has responded to multiple complaints recently involving fireworks being shot off late at night.

Police are using unmarked cars in different neighborhoods in hopes of catching those responsible.

Most of the fireworks being shot off are illegal to use in Ohio.

Officials in Sheffield Lake say, despite what you’ve seen on social media, there will be no fireworks at the city-owned Shoreway Shopping Center on the 4th of July.

It appears, someone created a Facebook page that resembles a city posting.

The Corona Virus has resulted in big business for Drive-In movie theaters, especially the Aut-O-Rama in North Ridgeville.

According to an industry publication, the local drive-in ranked fifth in gross-revenue last weekend…and that includes all movie theaters in the U-S and Canada!

The second community forum of the year for Sandusky City Schools is planned for Thursday at 5:00 pm, live on the school’s Facebook page.

According to the Sandusky Register…School officials will discuss the school’s reopening plans, money issues, and information on Sandusky Primary and Intermediate Schools.

Two more forums are scheduled for July and August.

The Norwalk Rotary Club has made a significant donation to the Whitney Field Improvement Project.

The organization has given $8,000 to the project, which will go toward a new turf football field and track that will be used by Norwalk and St. Paul athletic teams.

It’s expected to be completed by this fall’s sports seasons.

Today, the Second Harvest Food Bank’s “Mobile Pantry” will return to Ely Stadium to help those in need.

Today’s distribution will run from 4 to 6pm.

Last month, more than 800 families turned out for help.

The ‘Light Up the Point’ fireworks spectacular returns on July 4th to Cedar Point…and will benefit a number of great causes.  

For a $20 donation per car, guests are invited to park in the main parking lot during the display.

All ticket proceeds will go to Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio, OH Go and the Sandusky State Theatre.

A scam alert from the Better Business Bureau…

A study finds that employment scams were the top riskiest scam in both 2018 and 2019.

65 percent of consumers reported that their “job offer” was related to becoming a “warehouse redistribution coordinator” or some similar titles involving the ‘reshipment of packages’.

Another scam involves being a ‘secret shopper’, in which an employer sends what turns out to be a counterfeit check.
