Fatal crash Wednesday afternoon in Norwalk Township…
The State Highway Patrol says 81-year-old Mary Wright of Norwalk ran a stop sign on Greenwich Milan Townline Road and was struck by an approaching semi-truck on State Route 18.
Wright was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ohio Department of Health is reporting the state’s first human West Nile virus case and death in 2019, a 68-year-old man from Lucas County in northwest Ohio.
Health officials say, inn Ohio, most West Nile virus cases and other diseases transmitted by mosquitoes, usually occur from May through October when mosquitoes are most active.
There are no medications to treat or vaccines to prevent the West Nile virus infection.
Sandusky City Schools’ Ontario at Adams building was among a few buildings evacuated Wednesday morning due to a nearby gas leak.
It happened around 11:00 am at the intersection of Columbus and Adams streets…with the all-clear given around noon.
Three people with ties to a Sandusky-area massage parlor that was raided by authorities in July…now face an array of criminal charges that include prostitution.

53-year-old Xiaolan Hu, who’s believed to have lived at the parlor, is charged with 4 criminal counts.
An 18-year-old from Monroeville has been arrested on a drug trafficking charge.
The Huron County Sheriff’s Office says they executed a search warrant on Dogtown Road where evidence of drug abuse, possession and trafficking were seized from the residence of Dominic Ruffing.
Authorities say additional charges are expected against Ruffing.
A 41-year-old man from Norwalk has been accused of selling meth that caused serious harm to another person.
The Norwalk Reflector reports that Christopher Moore has been indicted on charges of corrupting another with drugs and aggravated drug trafficking.
