Huron County Peer Recovery Community Center to open this Saturday
The new Huron County Peer Recovery Community Center in Norwalk will hold a grand opening event this Saturday.
The facility will focus on recovery from long-term substance abuse disorders and mental health conditions as well as those seeking help from alcoholism.
The grand opening will include a ribbon-cutting at 5:00, press conference at 6:00 and a concert at 7:00 pm.
The center is located at 30 Shady Lane Drive.
Three resign from Huron County airport board
The Huron County Airport Board is down to just one.
Treasurer Linda Vaughn and two board members, Harry Brady and Melissa James, all resigned last week; with just Randy Birchfield remaining.
Brady told the Norwalk Reflector that the airport has recently lost close to $18,000 in revenue; and that the airport isn’t entitled to legal prosecution by county prosecutors due to it not being a county board; according to State Attorney General Mike DeWine.
Sandusky police looking into car break-ins
Sandusky police are investigating three vehicle break-ins from early Friday morning.
They allegedly took place in the 1100 block of Third Street with an iPhone and keys being stolen from the vehicles.
VICIS football helmet company to host info session in Norwalk
Reps from the VICIS company will be holding an informative session on Tuesday in Norwalk regarding impact-reducing technology advancements of their “Zero 1” football helmet.
It will take place at Eagle Creek Golf Experience at 6:30 pm.

Dog tag information for Huron County residents
2018 Dog and Kennel Tags go on sale in Huron County this Friday.
All dogs three months of age or older are required to be licensed.
For an additional five-dollars, you’ll receive a fire plug shaped tag with money going towards the medical treatment of dogs at the Huron County Dog Pound.
Christmas Candlelight Home Tour happening soon in Sandusky
The Old House Guild Christmas Candlelight Tour of Homes in Sandusky will take place starting this Sunday.
The tour running 6:00 to 9:00 pm Sunday and next Monday includes ten homes from First Street, 44th, Wayne, Curran, Cove, Sycamore Line and Columbus Avenue.
Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 the night of, and are available at many Sandusky-businesses and Lake Erie Shores and Islands Center.
