Port Clinton restaurant owner acquitted of charges in arson case
A Port Clinton restaurant owner accused of burning down his business for insurance money has been acquitted of all charges.
32 year-old Bradley Corbin, owner of Sloopy’s Sports Café, was indicted in May of 2016 after his restaurant went up in flames in 2015.
The acquittal came Tuesday after five days of testimony in an Ottawa County courtroom.
His pizza shop was since rebuilt and remains in business.
Drug addiction recovery center opening soon in Norwalk
A peer-to-peer recovery center for opioid drug addiction is set to open soon in Norwalk.
It will be located on Shady Lane in the building known as ‘Sarah’s House’.
The center will serve as a ‘safe haven’ for those affected by addiction and their families; and will include counseling, education and other helpful features.
Norwalk man sent to prison for endangering child
A man from Norwalk is going to jail for child endangerment.
39 year-old Willie Otis has been sentenced to 21 months in prison in connection with a domestic violence incident in April.
Locker room broke into at Whitney Field
A break-in at Whitney Field in Norwalk on Friday night is under investigation.
A number of Saint Paul football players reported they had money and merchandise stolen while they were on the road for a game in Tiffin.
The theft reportedly took place in a locker room used by game officials; which was left unlocked.
Anti-bullying seminar coming to EHOVE Career Center
The Erie and Huron County sheriff’s departments are sponsoring a seminar against bullying later this month at EHOVE (E-Ho-Vee) Career Center.
“Parents: Defeat Bullying on the Home Front” will take place September 27th at 6:30 pm; featuring national anti-bullying youth speaker Josh Drean.
‘Sub-Zero with a Hero’ set for Thursday in Sandusky
Toft’s Dairy in Sandusky is hosting ‘Sub-Zero with a Hero’ Thursday night.
You can come out and have some ice cream while sharing questions and concerns with Sandusky police officers and firefighters.
