Cedar Point unveils plans for new hybrid coaster
Cedar Point announced plans Wednesday on what they call a “record-breaking hyper-hybrid roller coaster”.
The park says “Steel Vengeance” will be the tallest, fastest and longest hybrid roller coaster in the world; which will be located in FrontierTown on the site of the former Mean Streak.
“Steel Vengeance” is schedule to open in the spring of 2018.
Huron County Fair – Thursday
Today is ‘senior citizens day’ in Norwalk at the Huron County Fair.
Admission for seniors is just one penny.

Secretary of State Husted visits Huron County Fair
Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted stopped by the Huron County Fair on Wednesday.
The republican talked about some of his campaign goals; which he said involves leading Ohio to a more prosperous future; as he prepares to run for governor in 2018.
Husted was joined Wednesday at the fair by Norwalk mayor Rob Duncan.
Current governor John Kasich is term-limited; with his second and last term expiring in January of 2019.
Alleged gunpoint robbery suspects arrested in Sandusky
Two men who allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint have been arrested by Sandusky authorities.
29-year-old Ozzy Odom of Milan Road in Sandusky and 27-year-old Justin Green of Conneaut have both been charged with aggravated robbery.
The alleged robbery took place on August 9th when a victim said that two men took out weapons and stole his paycheck and cell phone while he was walking on West Market Street.
Danbury SnapChat rape suspect says he can’t afford attorney
The 77-year-old Danbury Township man charged with the rape of a 20-year-old woman has claimed he can’t afford to hire his own defense attorney
According to the Sandusky Register, Allen was earning over $100,000 a year before being terminated from his general manager position last week at Bay Point Resort.
A video of Allen’s alleged rape was reportedly posted on the social media app, Snap-Chat, which led to his arrest.
Sandusky police participating in ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ campaign
The Sandusky Police Department wants to remind residents about their involvement in the national Labor Day “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.
Authorities in Sandusky report that they will be stepping up drunk driving enforcement from now through September 4th.
Boat fire at Cedar Point Marina caused over $200,000 in harm
Monday’s boat fire in the Cedar Point Marina has reportedly caused close to $250,000 in damage.
Two of those boats suffered around $220,000 in damage with five more boats receiving between $5,000 to $20,000 in harm each.
No one was hurt during the blaze in which multiple boats tied to a dock appeared to catch fire due to a gas tank explosion.
Cedar Point park operations were not affected.
