Sandusky man charged again with OVI
A man from Sandusky has been arrested for allegedly committing his seventh OVI offense in 10 years.
28-year-old Justin Dennis of North Depot Street was charged with OVI again Sunday after reportedly driving 60 miles-per-hour in a 35 miles-per-hour zone.
His prior offenses took place in 2016, 2015, 2010 and 2008.
Dennis had been driving under a ‘habitual alcohol suspension’ from a prior OVI.
Shots fired near Hayes and Decatur in Sandusky
Police are investigating an incident in which shots were fired near the area of Hayes and Decatur in Sandusky on Tuesday morning.
Authorities found a piece of a bullet near in the intersection of Townsend and Hayes.
A witness told officers that a dark-colored Jeep drove by the area before a gun fired multiple shots; with the vehicle stopping on Hayes and firing another shot before driving away north.
Cedar Point expected to make huge announcement today
Around the noon hour today, Cedar Point is expected to make a big announcement concerning a new ride.
The announcement likely to deal with the make-over of the Mean Streak roller-coaster; which closed last September.
Huron County Fair – Wednesday
Today is ‘Veterans Day’ at the Huron County Fair in Norwalk with admission of just a penny for area military veterans.
Also part of the fair this week is the Ag-Heritage area, which is set up like an 1870’s homestead.
The Heritage Area is open daily at the fair from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm.
A dunk tank will be set up today in the Heritage Area from 3:00 to 8:00 pm to give you a chance to dunk your favorite K96 and WLKR DJ; with money going to local charities.
Update on Milan Avenue roadwork in Norwalk
The City of Norwalk has confirmed that the Milan Avenue and League Street intersection to Milan and St. Mary’s Street will be closed to thru traffic starting August 28th.
The closure is due to construction on the remaining water line and roadway.
It’s expected to be closed until September 15th.
