Erie County Sheriff receives traffic safety funds
The Erie County Sheriff’s Office has received a grant of over $37,000 in federal traffic safety funding.
The Sheriff’s Office will use the grant to conduct overtime high-visibility enforcement patrols in high crash areas including US 250 and State Routes 2, 4, 60, and 61.
This month, deputies will utilize the funds during prom season.
Huron County Fair announces entertainment
The Huron County Fair in Norwalk has announced that this year’s Monday night entertainment will be country newcomer, Tucker Beathard, who is best known for his debut single “Rock On.”, a top ten country hit.
A ticket pre-sale will be held May 20th.
The Huron County Fair runs August 14 thru 19th.
SKYWARN class to be held in Willard
The National Weather Service and Huron County Emergency Management are hosting SKYWARN Tornado and Severe Weather Spotter Classes.
It takes place Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Willard Elementary School Café.
The class is free; and will teach the basics of storm and tornado development, severe weather safety and how to report information.
South Central grad to appear on ‘Jeopardy!’
A 2003 South Central graduate will appear later this month on Jeopardy.
How did Emmett Robinson do?

Robinson works as a business law attorney in Cleveland.
Norwalk ‘spring pickup’ next week
The City of Norwalk will be holding limited spring pickup next week during residents’ trash day.
Households are allowed to set out three large items or nine extra trash bags at no additional charge.
The pickup is limited to household items only such as mattresses, couches and televisions; and are restricted to items that two employees can lift.
