Missing Shelby boy found safe in Texas

A missing 17 year-old boy from Shelby has been found safe in Texas. According to Shelby Police, Sam Baker was picked up a Texas Trooper Monday night; along with an uncharged male. No firearm was found with them. Shelby schools and Pioneer Career center are back open today after being closed yesterday; as a precaution. Baker was first reported missing by his family on Sunday afternoon; along with a gun from their home.

 

Fire on Gibbs Road in Norwalk

A fire Saturday in Norwalk on Gibbs Road left a house and its’ contents to be considered a total loss. The blaze began in an attached garage and spread into the home’s attic. No one was hurt. A family of five was assisted with housing by the American Red Cross.

 

Norwalk man arrested after tossing drugs during traffic stop

A Norwalk man was arrested after tossing what’s believed to be cocaine over a Sandusky police officer’s head. The Sandusky Register says 60 year-old Thomas Senich was stopped on Stone Street Sunday night when an officer noticed a tin foil ball in his hand. When the officer reached for it, Senich threw it over the officer’s head and into a grassy area. When the foil was retrieved, it was found to contain suspected crack cocaine. Senich is charged with drug possession and tampering with evidence.

 

Man found in Willard with missing teen girl

An 18 year-old Oklahoma man with a missing teen girl was caught in Willard after taking off from police. The Norwalk Reflector reports that authorities from Oklahoma contacted Willard police about the 18 year-old man; who was located on Myrtle Avenue and led police on a chase down Willard streets and fields before being taken into custody. The 15 year-old girl, listed as a runaway, was found safe at a Willard address. She was believed to have willingly traveled with the man to see a relative.

The annual ‘Harvest for Hunger’ food drive is going on throughout this month of March and April. You can help those in need in Huron, Erie, and Lorain Counties in many ways such as starting your own drive at work or school or by donating directly online at www.harvestforhunger.org. Second Harvest has set a goal of providing over 1 million meals this year. The drive runs through mid-April.
