35 personnel positions at Perkins Schools will be cut for the 2017-18 school year. The Sandusky Register reports that district officials sent out notices to affected employees on Friday. Superintendent Jodie Hausmann explained the cuts are due in part to voters rejecting a $7.9 mill levy back in November; and says the failure means they lost out on one year’s worth of revenue. Haussmann says another levy failure would mean the school district would go into fiscal emergency and a state takeover. Perkins is currently in ‘Fiscal Caution’.
