OVI Checkpoint results from Saturday in Perkins Township

An OVI checkpoint took place on State Route 4, south of Perkins Avenue in Perkins Township on Saturday night. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reports that during the two-hour operation, 806 cars passed through the checkpoint, with 12 motorists held back for additional investigation.  No drivers were found to be impaired, but five arrests were made for possession of illegal drugs.

Woman caught breaking into Nacho’s Restaurant in Sandusky

Nacho’s Restaurant on Cleveland Road was broken into Friday morning by a woman with a hammer.  The Sandusky Register reports that 41 year-old Kimberly George of Sandusky was arrested on charges of breaking and entering, felony vandalism, safecracking and possession of criminal tools. It’s the second time in a year she’s allegedly broken into the business.  While inside the restaurant, George raided a cabinet near the cash register, Sandusky police Detective Gary Wichman told The Sandusky Register Friday.  She was later taken into custody and sent to the Erie County Jail.

Sandusky man Arrested on Drug Charges after Traffic Stop Discovery

A Sandusky man was arrested on drug charges Saturday night after initially being stopped for littering. 19 year-old Mark Castile Jr. of Sandusky was pulled over when someone from his car tossed a lit cigarette out the window which landed underneath an Erie County Sheriff’s Office vehicle. While conducting the stop, a bag was discovered that appeared to contain cocaine.  Castile was taken to Erie County Jail; and was charged with possession of cocaine, obstructing official business, driving under suspension, along with having three active warrants.

 

nti-Bullying Workshop to be held at Margaretta High School

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office is presenting an anti-bullying parent workshop this Thursday (6/30) at Margaretta High School at 7:00 pm. Items to be discussed include cyber bullying, physical and verbal bullying, sexting, and social media.  Parents, guardians, and students from grades K through 12 are invited to attend.

Police seeking help locating Bank Robbery Suspect in Lorain on Saturday

Police in Lorain have released a photo from surveillance video,of a man accused of robbing First Federal Savings of Lorain on East 42nd Saturday morning.  Police are asking you to give them a call if you recognize the guy.
