Two more waterline breaks, in Norwalk.

Crews fixed early morning breaks on Milan Avenue and Eastwood Drive.  A boil advisory is in effect for Eastwood and some of the surrounding area. 3,800 gallons per minute spilled out, during a Tuesday night waterline break on Milan Avenue.

 

State troopers throughout Ohio and five other states will take part in a weekend multi-state crackdown designed to make roadways safer.

Troopers will join state police from Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and West Virginia between 12:01am tomorrow, and 11:59 Sunday night, in removing impaired drivers from the road.

 

After months of negotiations, teachers in Norwalk have a new three-year contract.

The Norwalk Teachers Association approved the deal Tuesday night, and it was ratified by the Norwalk Board of Education last night. According to a joint statement, teachers will receive a raise of 2.25 percent the first year, two percent the second year, and 2.25 percent in year three, along with a one-time $500 contract payment agreement. It’s the first base wage increase since 2011. Financial terms are identical to ones approved earlier this year by support staff members. The contract also calls for members of NTA to move to a new cost-saving healthcare benefit program, effective February 1st of 2016. Teachers will contribute more toward their insurance, and will have higher co-pays.

 

Two men have been arrested, in connection with an early November bank robbery in Richland County.

Taylor Crisman and Chris Hill were arrested yesterday, during a traffic stop in Galion. Crisman is accused of forcing the manager to help him rob a Key Bank branch in Ontario, while Hill held the man’s family hostage.

 

An update, on a feud between adults in Fremont and Sandusky.

Three Fremont residents and one Sandusky resident have been formally banned from school property. If they violate the order, they could be arrested. Those four people were involved in a fight in a school hallway, after a November 20th girls basketball game at Ross High School. Police later learned that problems were possible at the November 27th Sandusky-Ross boys basketball game. The game was rescheduled for Tuesday, and then was canceled, along with a swim meet between the two schools. The reason given was “safety and security concerns.” Due to an ongoing investigation, school officials and police declined to release more information.

According to reports, as many as 100 people were involved in the scuffle.
