An alleged rape in Milan Township is under investigation by Erie County Deputies.
The alleged victim came forward Sunday, and claimed she was raped August 1st, at the Huron River Valley Campgrounds. The 23-year-old Ashland County woman said after a night of drinking, she went to her camper to get her cell phone, when one of her husband’s relatives made unwanted sexual advances, then raped her. The woman said she didn’t go to the hospital, but did call a rape crisis hotline soon after the incident. After talking with family members, she spoke with deputies this past weekend. So far, no charges have been filed.

Leaves will be picked up the day after your normal trash day. If your trash day is tomorrow, your leaves will be picked up on Monday. Some things to keep in mind…Leaves must be curbside by 7:30am on the day of scheduled pickup. They can’t be mixed with brush or yard waste and leaves in bags will not be picked up. Also, leaves behind parked cars cannot be picked up.

43-year-old Michael McFarland is accused of causing a three-car crash while texting, on Route 20 near Oberlin back in August. A 48-year-old Lorain man was killed and another driver was hurt.
Last month, we told you approximately 1,000 Ohio rail crossings that don’t have flashing lights or gates are getting stop signs.
Crews have begun installing them in some locations. In Huron County, five rail crossings in Ripley Township are getting stop signs, along with one in Willard, two in Monroeville, two in Bellevue, two in Clarksfield Township, two in Townsend Township, one in New London Township and one in Ridgefield Township. Three rail crossings in Erie County’s Groton Township are getting stop signs, along with 10 in the Richland County portion of Plymouth and Plymouth Township.
