You’ll see plenty of Norwalk police officers out the next few days.

The department is taking part in a special DUI enforcement blitz along several of the city’s busiest streets, including U.S. Routes 20 and 250, State Route 18, Whittelsey Avenue, Norwood Avenue and Old State Road.

Also stepping up patrols during the holiday period…

Erie County Sheriff’s deputies.  They’ll be enforcing speed and DUI laws, especially along State Routes 4, 60 and 61, and U.S. Route 250.

AAA says nearly 41 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home, during the July 4th holiday period.

Of course, most government offices and banks will be closed for the July 4th holiday.

No mail and trash pickup will be delayed by one day.

A boil advisory continues until 10 this morning, for Erie County Water Customers on West Bogart Road in Perkins Township.

The advisory also includes Ransom Road, Brandon Blvd., Lake Wilmer condos and Lake Point townhouses.

Starting later today…The 27th annual Willard Festival in the Park.

It’ll open at 4pm, the same time we’ll start broadcasting live from the festival. Some highlights: Three daily shows of the Kent Family Circus, along with 3-on-3 basketball tournaments, live music, rides, food, Friday night fireworks and Saturday’s parade.  For a complete schedule, go to willardohio.com.
