A Cleveland-area man accused of abducting his son remains in the Erie County Jail.
Kevin Criss is charged with violating a protection order, and possession of drugs. More charges are expected, once he’s turned over to Cleveland police. Criss was arrested yesterday morning along Cleveland Road in Huron, a short time after an Amber Alert was issued for his son, eight-year-old Kevin Criss Jr. A good Samaritan saw their car, called police, then tailed it until officers arrived. The boy was unharmed, and returned to his mother.
Overnight milling and paving will begin soon, in downtown Norwalk.
Work will start Sunday at midnight at Woodlawn Avenue, and will move west toward downtown. The schedule goes like this: midnight until 7am Monday, then 8pm until 6am, until crews are out of the downtown area. Officials said overnight work will expedite the project, and cause minimal disruptions to traffic, parking and business.
Due to an overnight water main break on West Bogart Road in Perkins Township, there’s a boil advisory through 10am tomorrow for Erie County Water customers on West Bogart, along with Ransom Road, Brandon Blvd., Lake Wilmer condos and Lake Point townhouses.
A boil advisory means water can be used for showers, baths and flushing toilets, but should not be consumed unless it’s boiled first.
A reminder that State Route 13, just north of U.S. Route 224 in Greenwich Township will close Monday, for repairs to CSX railroad tracks.
Work is scheduled to last 10 days.

A wiring problem led to an unexpected shutdown Saturday.
The beaches along Lake Erie in Ohio were the worst in the nation in 2012, for water quality.
That’s according to an environmental group that ranks beaches every year. The Natural Resources Defense Council says E. Coli was detected in 21 percent of beach water tests conducted by health officials, putting Ohio dead last among states with coastal beaches.
Ohio’s new arson registry is now active.
State law requires anyone convicted of any arson-related offense to register their address with the sheriff’s office once a year, for life. Each offender must pay a $50 fee for initial registration and $25 for each following year.
A new carp record has been set in Ohio.
It weighed just over 53-and-a-half pounds and was caught by Patrick Johnson of Toledo in the Sandusky Bay portion of Lake Erie.
