In Huron County, there were 73 new reported cases on Thursday.

A big time drug bust in Sandusky…
According to the Sandusky Register, police confiscated more than 300 grams of narcotics on Wednesday in Perkins Township during a traffic stop; wrapping up a month-long investigation.
Three men face felony charges…23 year-olds Sidney Evans and Marvin Parker and 33-year-old Derek Sherburne.

The Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash in Columbia Township involving a car and a Valley City Ambulance.
It happened last night at about 8 o’clock at the intersection of Routes 82 and 252.
Troopers believe, the ambulance had its overhead lights and siren activated when the car T-boned it, overturning the ambulance.
Both drivers…and a patient…were taken to Southwest General.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is joining forces with members of the 6-State Trooper Project to enforce and raise awareness on impaired driving.
The project will run today through Sunday.
Last year during the same 6-State initiative, the Patrol arrested 237 drivers for OVI.
The 6-State Trooper Project is a multi-state law enforcement partnership.

36-year-old William Schramm the Second is accused of killing his girlfriend’s Yorkshire terrier.

Schools in Ohio can now apply for a share of $11 million in safety grants that will be awarded by the office of Attorney General Dave Yost for the 2022-23 academic year.
The funding, from House Bill 110, can be used for safety planning, training and classroom programs.
Each school is eligible for a grant of $2,500 or $5.50 per student, whichever amount is greater.

An anonymous donor has issued a $50,000 match challenge involving the Huron County Community Foundation for all money donated to the Norwalk City Schools Endowment Fund…as reported by the Norwalk Reflector.
Earlier this year, the fund offered 32 continuing education scholarships for a total of $53,000 to Norwalk students; along with helping faculty with their needs.
The $50,000 challenge runs now to March 1st, 2022.
