A couple area posts of the State Highway Patrol have named their ‘Troopers of the Year’ for 2021.
At Norwalk, it’s 28-year-old Nathan Waldock from Attica.
In Sandusky, the honor goes to 37-year-old Race Baker from Orrville.

When voters in Lorain rejected a new school levy last month, school officials were ready to go back to voters in the spring.
However, according to an updated, 5-year forecast, that might not happen.
According to a newsletter from Lorain Schools’ CEO Jeff Graham, increased enrollment, increased funding from the state, and cost-saving measures will shore-up the bottom line.

A grand opening and ribbon-cutting event is planned tonight for Sandusky’s new ice rink.

Dr. John Luellen, the current president for Mercy Health Youngstown, will add Mercy Health Lorain to his responsibilities.

The Huron County Veteran Service Commission is accepting reservations for rides and free admission to the National Veterans Memorial and Museum in Columbus for the December 8th trip and beyond.
The commission is offering any Huron County veteran, surviving spouse, Gold Star families, and a guest free admission and transportation to the museum.
