A man from Willard accused of killing the mother of his children has been indicted on 10 felonies.
44-year-old Javier Lopez allegedly stabbed 45-year-old Margarita Roblero-Perez to death earlier this month on Wessor Drive in Willard.
According to the Sandusky Register, Lopez faces 2 murder counts and a count of aggravated murder.

Police in Elyria have charged a 22-year-old man from Lorain with ‘aggravated murder’.
Lamar Hudson Junior is accused of shooting and killing his father, 41-year-old Lamar Hudson Senior of Elyria.
Monday night, police found the older Hudson, shot dead, in a car on Gulf Road.
No word yet for a possible motive in the shooting…

Elyria Police have released the names of those who died in last week’s multi-vehicle crash on Route 57 near Cleveland Street.
Stephanie Bays of Elyria was 68. Betsy Bays was 46.
Both were in a minivan that was struck by a semi.
Two other people were hurt…38-year-old Aaron Hykes of Carlisle Township…and 40-year-old Danielle Mooney of Vermilion.

Looking at COVID numbers…
In Erie County, 4 new deaths and 262 new cases were reported from September 19th to 25th. The death toll is now at 226 since the pandemic began. Almost 52 percent of Erie County residents are fully vaccinated.
In Huron County, 53 new cases were reported on Tuesday.
More than 200 of the new cases were reported in Lorain County on Tuesday.
Statewide, there were 7,200 new cases reported on Tuesday, more than the 21-day rolling average of 6,600.

Due to a rise in COVID quarantined students, Edison Schools have issued a mask mandate for the district, effective today.
According to the Sandusky Register, Edison School officials decided on the mask policy over virtual learning.
The mandate pertains to all students, staff, and anyone inside district buildings.
The policy will last until at least October 22nd, when it will be revisited.

A very slight population bump for Norwalk…
According to Norwalk Ohio News.com, recently released census numbers show that Norwalk’s population grew by 56 from 2010 to 2020.
Norwalk’s population sits at 17,068…according to 2020 Census figures.

The City of Norwalk says over 3,500 non-filer letters were sent out Tuesday to those who did not file a municipal income tax return.
The city says that taxpayers can e-file their returns or exemptions at ritaohio.com or mail or fax the documents listed on the non-filer letter to RITA.

Downtown Elyria will come alive Saturday with the grand opening of the new Central Library on Broad Street.
The fun will begin at 10 am, and continue until 2 pm.
Construction was made possible by voters who approved a money-issue several years ago.
