Sandusky Police are investigating the report of gun shots fired at a house early Thursday.
According to the Sandusky Register, no one was home at the time of the incident on Taylor Street.
The bullets went through a porch swing and the house’s siding.

Elyria Police continue their investigation into yesterday’s fatal crash on Route 57 near North Abbe Road.
Two people were killed. Three others were hurt.
Police believe, 57 year old Kenneth Burdick of Lorain lost control of his semi, and crossed over into the southbound lanes, striking three vehicles.

Ohio had 7,400 reported new cases on Thursday, about 900 more than the 21-day average.

To encourage eligible kids to get vaccinated against COVID, Governor Mike DeWine has announced the Ohio Vax-2-School program, which will be open to Ohioans aged 12 to 25 years old, and will be similar to the scholarship portion of the successful Vax-a-Million program.
Prizes will include 50 scholarships worth $10,000 each and five $100,000 scholarships to an Ohio college or university for career or technical education.
Prizes will be announced Monday through Friday beginning the week of October 11th.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol joined forces with five other nearby state law enforcement agencies to focus on criminal patrol enforcement last week.
During the project, nearly 10,000 grams of marijuana was removed from Ohio’s roadways.
Additionally, seven people were arrested on felony marijuana charges and 57 others were charged with other felony drug arrests.

The Norwalk Area United Fund held their campaign kickoff breakfast yesterday at the Norwalk Eagles Club.
This year’s campaign goal is $415,000, which will go to support 26 local programs.

Huron County first responders partnered with Norwalk Saint Paul High School for their Homecoming Mock Crash on Thursday.
The event was organized by St. Paul students to raise awareness of the dangers of impaired driving and distracted driving.
Approximately 300 students stood silently in a parking lot watching as the entire Mock Crash scene unfolded, that included two students being killed and a student being charged with OVI.

Former Lorain County Prosecutor Greg White has been named to the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame.
…one of 20 inductees this year.
White served in Vietnam, and later, earned a law degree.
A virtual induction program is scheduled for Veterans Day in November.

Sandusky’s city-wide clean-up event is set for tomorrow from 9 am to 12 noon at the Shelby Street Boat Launch
Those looking to drop-off unwanted items must be Sandusky residents, with a photo ID required.
