A small plane made was forced to make an emergency landing late afternoon Tuesday on Cedar Point beach, after a duck hit the windshield mid-flight.

 There was no major damage to the plane injuries to anyone inside the plane. The highway patrol is investigating the incident.

 

Former EHOVE instructor, 48-year-old Michael Edwards, is going to prison.

 The former culinary arts instructor was sentenced yesterday to thirty months behind bars on three counts of felony sexual battery. He was labeled a sex offender for life. Edwards was arrested late last year after allegations that he had sex with a 16-year-old female student in multiple locations around Erie County. Edwards avoided the 15-year maximum.

 

An update on resurfacing along route 250 in Norwalk.
Traffic may be stopped at times due to construction. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes for the duration of the project. Weather permitting, the project is expected to last through late August.

 

Traffic may be slow-going on Whittlesey Avenue near the Norwalk Post Office beginning Monday.
Crews will begin construction on a sewer project between Monroe and Main Street. Traffic will be maintained in each direction, however, parking will be affected. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Sewer lining work will begin next Monday in Norwalk.
Work will take place on Newton Street between West Main and Jefferson. When work is complete, the crew will move to Grove Avenue, south of Williams. Once again, traffic will be maintained as needed. Locals are encouraged to use familiar routes around the construction zone. All work is expected to be complete by next Wednesday.

 

Norwalk High School is searching for members of the class of 1994.

Around Ohio…

Charges are pending against a corrections officer accused of stealing cases of shotgun shells from a prison arsenal and then selling them online.  The guard lives in Grove City, but works at a state prison in London, Ohio.  He resigned yesterday.

One of five soldiers killed in a friendly-fire incident in Afghanistan this week was from Ohio.  He’s been identified as Justin Helton of Beaver, in southern Ohio.

Cleveland Police have arrested a man accused of fatally shooting his two-year-old son.  Police said the man was arguing with the child’s mother when he fired a shot that hit the boy in the head.  The man is a convicted felon.

Day baseball today in Kansas City.

The Indians and Royals will close their short two-game series at 2:10.  You can hear all the action starting with Indians Warm Up at 1:37 on 95.3, WLKR.  The Tribe lost last night’s game 9-5.
