Checking COVID-19 numbers…

In Erie County, there were no new reported deaths, with 145 new reported cases from April 9th to 16th.  There have been 209 total fatalities since the pandemic began.

In Huron County, no new cases or deaths were reported from Saturday to Sunday, with the death toll currently at 114.

This comes as the world surpassed the 3-million mark in COVID-19 deaths over the weekend.

The CDC says, one-half of all Americans…18 and older…have received at least one COVID-19 vaccination.

The feds say, about 32-and-a-half-percent have been fully vaccinated.

A man from northwest Ohio is due in court…charged with ‘inducing panic’ on the campus of Bowling Green State University.

Authorities issued a ‘shelter in place’ alert yesterday afternoon when a man with a gun was spotted on campus,.

University officials say, it was NOT an ‘active shooter situation”, and no one was hurt.

A doctor from Port Clinton has been indicted on multiple charges in connection with his medical practice.  

According to the Sandusky Register, 55-year-old Dr. Gregory Gerber, who has a practice in Sandusky, has been charged with 2 counts of health care fraud and 51 counts of distributing controlled substances.

He faces up to 20 years behind bars and a $250,000 fine, if convicted

The Avon School system is in the market for a new superintendent.

As we first reported on Facebook Friday evening, Mike Laub will become the next superintendent of the North Royalton Schools on July 1st.

He replaces Greg Gurka, who’s retiring.

Laub led the Avon Schools for 9 years.

Norwalk Area United Fund Executive Director Pat Krause is retiring.

According to Norwalk Ohio News.com, Krause will be stepping down soon as a replacement is found…after 2 years in the position and at least 25 years overall with the United Fund.

Roadwork continues in Norwalk this week…

The City says that Elm Street will be closed between Benedict and Norwood Avenues for gas line work.

Today, the Second Harvest Food Bank will host a mobile food pantry at Eee-lee Stadium (in Elyria).

It’ll run from 3:30 until 5:30.

COVID-19 concerns have resulted in the cancellation of another popular event in Lorain County…

Organizers of the Oberlin Chalk Walk have taken to social media to announce, there will be NO chalk walk in downtown Oberlin this year.
