Cedar Point will re-open today.

The park unexpectedly closed Saturday and, due to a water main break.

 

More than a dozen people were arrested after a large fight inside a Cedar Point employee rec center.

Cedar Point and Sandusky Police were called to the scene early Saturday.  Those involved were described as park employees or friends of employees.  They were charged with various offenses and were booked into the Erie County Jail.

 

Some are sad, others are glad.

Either way, Ohio Bike Week 2014 is in the books.

 

Huron and Sandusky police are looking for two 13-year-old girls missing since Saturday.

Zoe Koehler and Maggie Freeman went to Ohio Bike Week on their own, and haven’t been seen since. A cell phone locator last placed them in Sandusky. Anyone with information should contact Sandusky or Huron police.

 

The highway patrol is investigating a weekend crash that left one person dead, and injured five others.

The accident occurred late Saturday on State Route 53 near Port Clinton, when a pickup truck turned in front of two motorcycles. 53-year-old Thomas Lamb of Boardman was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger on the bike, 49-year-old Angela Lamb, and the driver of the pickup, 35-year-old Susie Gonzales of Port Clinton were flown to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center with serious injuries. A passenger in the pickup, and two people on the second motorcycle were taken to Magruder hospital.

 

Charges are pending in Mansfield against two suspected kidnappers.

Police arrested Charly Ray Ledbetter and Deana Hebert this past weekend after the pair allegedly snatched a two-year-old child.  According to reports, they held the child for ransom in exchange for ingredients used to make crystal meth.  The child was not hurt.

 

The 2013-2014 school year is complete.

Yesterday, Norwalk High School graduated 184 seniors, while Edison said goodbye to 135 seniors. Also graduating yesterday: seniors at New London and Vermilion high schools.

 

The city of Norwalk is accepting donations for the annual July 4th fireworks show at the Huron County Fairgrounds.

Checks should be made out to the VFW, but dropped off at city hall.

 

Expect delays on U.S. Route 250 in Norwalk.

Starting tomorrow, crews will begin resurfacing 250 on the north side of town. The project will continue until the city limits are reached on the south side of Norwalk. Once that happens, crews will turn around and complete the process. If possible, residents should use alternate routes.
