The boil advisory has been lifted in the village of Greenwich. 

The water is safe to drink and use as normal.

This comes after a water main break on Monday.

In Huron County COVID-19 numbers…

27 new cases were reported on Tuesday, with the death toll holding at 41.

Governor Mike DeWine announced Tuesday a new plan for Ohio’s COVID-19 overnight curfew, of 10 pm to 5 am, that is contingent on the number of hospitalizations statewide.

The Ohio Department of Health has recommended that Ohio’s curfew be shortened when certain benchmarks are hit for certain time frames.

For example, Ohio’s curfew will be amended to 11 pm to 5 am when COVID-related hospital utilization drops below 3,500 for seven consecutive days.

As of Tuesday, hospitalizations have been below 3,500 for the past six days.

Two men received non-life threatening injuries from a one-vehicle crash last night on Route 4 in Perkins Township. 

The State Highway Patrol says that 40-year-old James Neff of Port Clinton drove his Ford Escape off the right side of the road and struck a culvert, mailbox and utility pole, before overturning.

30-year-old Fernando Gonzales Jr. of Sandusky was a passenger with Neff.

Drug use is a suspected factor in the crash.

The strike continues at Borgers USA auto parts supplier in Norwalk, as some employees hold out for union recognition, better benefits and increased pay.

The company tells Norwalk Ohio News.com that the factory remains fully operational and they have experienced no impact on production.

The strike began last Thursday.

Dog tag sales have been extended from the end of this month to July 1st.

A new stop light will be activated February 4th at Middle Ridge and West Ridge Roads.

The numbers are in, and despite COVID 19, 2020 was a banner year in Ohio for the housing market…with increases in sales activity, average sales price and  total dollar-volume.

Home sales;  up more than 4 percent

Home prices;  up nearly 10-percent…compared to 2019.

The city of Norwalk is seeking public comment on the proposed Huron-Norwalk Multi-Use Path. 

The proposed path is approximately two miles in length, beginning at Old State Road near the City Reservoir and extending to the City of Norwalk Ernsthausen Recreation Center on Republic Street.

During construction, which is expected to last nine months, all roads will remain open with periodic one lane closure within the project limits.
