Three men have been criminally charged, in connection with the shooting death of a Sandusky man.

According to multiple media outlets, 41-year-old Tavon Myers was killed in a shooting and robbery incident that took place Saturday on East Madison Street in Sandusky.

Taken into police custody were 20-year-old Jalen Jones, 22-year-old Exavier Cruz, and 25-year-old Lavell Chapman.

A man from Monroeville has been charged for allegedly desecrating the grave of a former law enforcement officer. 

According to the Sandusky Register, the 64-year-old man was charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief and desecration of the grave of Donald Albers Jr. at Riverside Cemetery in Monroeville.

Albers Jr. was a former Monroeville Police Officer and Huron County Sheriff’s Deputy.

We begin the week with nearly 85-hundred confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Lorain County since the pandemic began.

The local death toll stands at 96.

COVID-19 cases have been on the increase in Huron County.

According to Huron County Public Health, 369 cases were reported from November 27th through December 3rd.

Of the 369 new cases, 150 were reported within Norwalk, 80 in Willard, and 53 in Bellevue.

The death toll now stands at 23 in Huron County.

Huron County Public Health has announced that they’ll be holding a second drive-thru flu shot clinic later this week in Norwalk.

It’s set for this Friday from 1:00 to 4:00 at Huron County Public Health.

Those wishing to attend must pre-register online.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol joined forces with members of the 6-State Trooper Project this past weekend to enforce and raise awareness of impaired driving.

Last year during the same 6-State initiative, the Patrol arrested 219 drivers for OVI.

A fundraiser that brought in $12,500 has led to a new K9 officer for the Huron County Sheriff’s Department.

According to Norwalk Ohio News.com…Esco…a 15-month-old Belgian Malinois…will replace Joe-Joe, who passed away this past fall from cancer.

Esco is trained to search the outdoors and inside buildings for narcotics and articles.

Today, the Second Harvest Food Bank will host a mobile food pantry at Ely Stadium in Elyria.

It’ll run from 2 until 4 pm…

The City of Sandusky would like to invite residents to a community toy drive to support OHgo during this holiday season.

Residents are encouraged to drop off unwrapped toys or monetary donations to East Washington Row this Saturday, December 12th from 10 am to noon.

The city of Elyria is inviting business owners to a virtual lunch-and-learn session called, “Taking Your Business Online’.

The session will focus on e-commerce, and will be led by Matthew Poyle of Lorain County Community College.

Tomorrow’s session will begin at noon…contact Elyria City Hall for registration…

It appears…COVID 19 or not…people are in the market to buy new cars, SUV’s and trucks.

According to the greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers Association, November sales surpassed those of a year ago, and year-to-date sales are almost on par with 2019.

Your local volume leader for November; Chevrolet, followed by Ford, then Honda.
