It was a busy weekend for authorities in Erie County.

Sandusky police are investigating an early Sunday morning shooting, at a Cleveland Road business. Seven people were shot, and one person was beaten at Geno’s party center. The shooting victims, all from Sandusky, suffered non-life threatening wounds. Some of the victims may have been innocent bystanders. The assault victim was found unresponsive, and was taken to Firelands Regional Medical Center, then was flown to a Toledo hospital. So far, no arrests have been made, but Sandusky police have several ‘persons of interest.’

 

Erie County deputies are investigating a gruesome discovery, in Huron Township.

Two badly decomposed bodies were found inside a Beachwood Villas townhouse. Deputies suspect the bodies, found Saturday afternoon, are those of an elderly woman and her adult son. There were no signs of foul play, but it’s believed the two had been dead at least three weeks. Both bodies were sent to Lucas County for autopsies. Authorities are still working to confirm the identities of the two.

 

Police in Perkins Township arrested a Willoughby teen accused of firing shots outside of Wal-Mart.

The 17-year-old boy is facing several charges, including inducing panic. Police said the teen fired several shots in the air late Saturday night, after a minor accident and confrontation. He was arrested a short time after the incident, and was taken to the Erie County Juvenile Detention Center.

 

Norwalk’s 6th annual Great American Treasure Hunt is set for this Saturday.

The area’s largest street sale will be held between 8am and 2pm, in uptown Norwalk.

Authorities are cracking down on those, who don’t buckle up.

 

The 34th annual Walleye Festival begins this Thursday in Port Clinton.

The Indians will try to snap a four-game losing streak tonight as they take on the Tigers at Progressive Field.  Indians Warm-Up begins at 6:37, with first pitch time at 7:10 on 95.3, WLKR.

For the second straight year, Ed Carpenter has won the pole for the Indianapolis 500.  You can hear the Indy 500 this Sunday on Kool Gold 1510.  Coverage will begin at 11a.m.
