Another COVID-19 death has been reported in Erie County.

That’s put the county at a total of 52.

Erie County also had 14 Corona Virus cases reported on Wednesday.

Huron County saw another COVID-19 death reported yesterday to equal 9.

According to Norwalk Ohio News.com, the death was a man in his 90’s from Willard, who passed away October 10th.

10 cases were also reported Wednesday in Huron County.

The Corona Virus has claimed the life of another resident of Lorain County.

The local death toll now stands at 82 since mid-March.

Today, the Lorain City School System will begin testing student-athletes for COVID-19.

Drive-thru testing will be offered from 9am until 3pm, today and tomorrow, at George Daniel Field.

The testing is required for all Lorain middle and high school student-athletes who wish to participate in “winter sports”.

The city of Lorain has announced, all city-parks will close at sunset until further notice.

This…after a second shooting in recent months at Oakwood Park.

The order does not include Lakeview nor century…those parks are operated by the Lorain County Metro Parks.

Sewer and water rates are going up in Monroeville.

The Norwalk Reflector reports that starting in November; residents will see a dollar or so increase for the first 2,000 gallons of water usage and about a 4-dollar bump for the first 2,000 gallons of sewer usage.

A similar increase will also take effect in May of next year.

A one-time $25 CARES Act credit will be applied to residents’ December bill, for those with active accounts from March through July.

An Elyria man is the newest member of the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame for Valor.

Philip Hahn was a U-S Marine who served in the Korean War.

Hahn received a Purple Heart for injuries, and a Bronze Star for heroism.

A “Protect our Police” prayer rally is scheduled for later this month in Lorain.

According to the Chronicle Telegram, the gathering at Lorain City Hall on October 24th at 11:00 am is open to the public.

Main Street Lorain hopes to turn what they call “the year of blahs” into something special this holiday season.

They’re encouraging downtown business owners to create festive window displays…and community members to create a holiday-themed display that’ll be placed along Broadway.

The goal is to bring people back to downtown Lorain to shop, and dine at local restaurants.

A free Fall yard waste drop-off event is planned for this weekend for Sandusky residents.

Saturday from 8 to 4 and Sunday from 10 to 4, at Barnes Nursery in Huron.

All six branches will be collecting new and gently-worn coats, hats, gloves and scarves…for all ages…through December 5th.
