The State Patrol’s Sandusky Post is currently investigating a three vehicle fatal crash that happened last night.
It occurred on Route 2, near the Bogart Road overpass.
The Patrol says a pickup blew a tire, struck a guardrail, and partially blocked the road.
Two motorcyclists then struck the truck, ejecting them from their cycles.
John Corbin of Huron was killed, while Susan Corbin of Huron was taken to a medical facility with serious injuries.
The driver of the truck, Christopher Cannon of Cleveland, was not hurt.

The defense and prosecution rested their cases Thursday in Erie County Common Pleas Court the trial of a former pastor accused of sexually assaulting 3 children at his church.
According to the Sandusky Register, closing arguments will take place this morning in 59 year-old Richard Mick’s trial; former pastor of Sandusky’s Lighthouse Baptist Church
This marks the third time Mick has been tried for the crimes after previous trials ended in an overturned conviction and a mistrial.

Huron County, a Level 1 Yellow…while Erie and Lorain County are a Level 2 Orange.

A kitchen fire in Norwalk…
It happened at an apartment on North Pleasant Street Thursday morning.
The Norwalk Reflector reports that no one was hurt and there was just minor damage.

Governor Mike DeWine announced Thursday that indoor visitations may resume at Ohio nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
The visitations at nursing homes may begin October 12th, as long as safety standards are met.

The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of a scam…in which a caller claims to be from…the Sheriff’s Office!
The caller is trying to get personal information by saying, they have outstanding warrants for the person-called, and arrangements have to be made for payment.
Again, the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office says, this is a SCAM.

A road closure next week in Norwalk…
As part of the Akron Road Waterline Project, Old State Road, between Akron and Cleveland roads, will close next Monday and Tuesday.

A state route will close in Huron County next week due to road construction.
Route 601, between Gibbs Road and Route 20, will shut down on Monday for around a month.

A State Highway Patrol Trooper with the Sandusky Post has received a state honor.
Race Baker has received the Ace Award for excellence in auto larceny enforcement.
Baker has recovered 5 stolen vehicles with a combined value of $69,000 and apprehended 5 suspects in connection with the thefts.

The U-S Department of Education has designated Avon Middle School, a “Blue Ribbon School” for 2020.
The recognition is based on overall academic performance or in closing achievement gaps for sub-groups of students.
This is the first time an Avon School has received a “Blue Ribbon” award.
