Police in Lorain are asking for your help in finding the person responsible for the shooting-death of a two year-old girl.

Kamila Patterson died, and two other people were wounded, when someone fired a gun late Sunday night at a home on West 21st.

A development in Grafton…shaken…by gunfire.

Police say, a 60 year old man is dead, and his 53 year old wife is wounded after a domestic violence incident on Hunters Chase.

Police say, the man went to the home to confront his wife about their separation.

That led to gunfire as the woman escaped in an SUV.

The man was found dead…in the garage.

Governor Mike DeWine has called for a 5:30 pm news conference today.

He’s expected to address Ohioans with the state of the COVID-19 pandemic, including the recent increases in cases and virus spread.

New numbers from the State Department of Health show another COVID-19 death in Huron County.

The person passed away on Saturday.

It puts the county at a total of three CoronaVirus fatalities.

Lorain County is closing in on 11-hundred confirmed cases of the Corona Virus.

And…Lorain County Public Health reports; there are another 128 ‘probable’ cases.

(The death toll remains at 65.)

Three states on the eastern seaboard are telling residents of Ohio, we don’t want your germs.

New York, New Jersey and Connecticut have added Ohio to their quarantine list, meaning…if you travel to those states, you must spend the first two weeks there, in quarantine.

A U-S Attorney says, “If you deal dope in Lorain County, you will face a federal prosecution”.

Justin Herdman made the comment after the arrests of 10 residents of Elyria.

The feds say, from January of 2018 to this month, the 10 suspects worked together to distribute crack cocaine and a cocaine/oxycodone combo.

Five school systems in Lorain County will receive financial help to begin the new school year.

The State Controlling Board has released Corona Virus relief funding to the Avon Lake, Elyria, Midview, North Ridgeville and Sheffield/Sheffield Lake school systems.

The money can be used for protective equipment, cleaning and sanitation, and remote learning.

You can drop the interim tag, in one more day.

According to the Sandusky Register, interim chief and former assistant chief, Vince Donald, will become the new Perkins Township full-time chief tomorrow evening during a swearing-in ceremony.

Donald, who started with the Perkins PD in 1996, received the interim tag when former chief Robb Parthemore retired in May.

 A blood drive has been announced for the Norwalk area.

It will take place July 28th from 1:00 to 6:00 pm at the Social Hall across from St. Paul Elementary School in Norwalk.

Appointments are needed; and can be made at www.redcrossblood.org.

Those participating receive a Cedar Point day pass, a t-shirt and a chance to win a $500 Visa gift card.

The latest on high school sports this fall…

The Ohio High School Athletic Association says they’re working with the Governor’s Office on getting sports such as football and soccer approved for play.

The Governor’s Office has already approved competitions between schools in “low contact” sports, such as golf, tennis and volleyball.

All in all, it will be up to the schools whether they participate in approved fall sports.

Wallethub says they determined their list on a number of factors, including how vulnerable the state is to COVID-19, average weekly work hours and divorce and suicide rates.

A segment of road in Huron County has been named after a local Vietnam vet, who passed away more than 50 years ago.

According to Norwalk Ohio News.com, part of Route 99 is now named the “Lance Corporal James Sprowl Memorial Highway”.

Sprowl, from Monroeville, died in battle in 1968 at the age of 20.

A dedication ceremony is set for July 25th at 2:00 pm at Monroeville’s Clark Park.

The Erie County Fair Board in Sandusky has released information for this year’s fair, which begins August 11th.

-Admission to the fair will be free this year.

-Several food vendors will be on hand.

-There will be no rides or grandstand entertainment.

-The majority of live stock shows will remain the same date and time.

-4-H and FFA members, their families and volunteers will be able to camp at the fairgrounds as usual.
