COVID-19 numbers continue to climb in Ohio.
Yesterday the state had nearly 400 more new cases (1,378) than the 21-day average (990).
Overall, Ohio has over 65,500 total cases and over 3,050 fatalities.

Huron County Public Health is investigating a number of COVID-19 outbreaks.
As of Friday, they include:
-Three different farms in Willard who have a total of 46 cases
-The Willows at Willard nursing home with 8 cases
-Collins United Methodist Church and West Hartland United Methodist Church with a total of 12 cases
-A baby shower in Huron County with 16 cases
Huron County currently sits at a Level 2 out of 4 (orange) in terms of COVID-19 spread.

A man from Wakeman died Friday while hospitalized from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident late last month.
Hershel Randolph was 59.
Randolph was driving on Route 60 on June 30th when he went off the road, struck a sign and was knocked off the cycle.

A 60-year-old Columbus man has been arrested in connection with gun shots fired Thursday night at an apartment in Norwalk.
According to Norwalk Ohio News.com, Mark Allen is charged with felonious assault and unlawfully discharging a firearm in a habitation.
Allen allegedly fired multiple shots that shattered the entrance door of the Bluffs Apartments on Sycamore Drive.
No one was hurt in the incident.
The incident remains under investigation.

Vermilion Police are reporting a rash of vehicle entry thefts over the last few weeks.
They’ve occurred recently in The Woodlands Estates and Vermilion-on-the-Lake areas.
Police advise residents to lock their vehicles and to not leave valuables inside; as the crimes have occurred by suspects just opening doors of cars to get inside.

The Avon Lake Public Library was supposed to re-open today, but that re-opening has been delayed…until the COVID-19 risk-level is lowered.
Curbside pick-up will continue in the meantime…

Demolition is scheduled to begin today on the 99-year-old Eee-lee Elementary School in Elyria.
The school opened in 1921…and in the fall…a NEW school will open adjacent to the current facility.

The Whitney Field Improvement Project is moving along as Norwalk and St. Paul football and track athletes hope to have a season this fall.
According to Improvement Committee member Joe Widman, the refurbished home of the Truckers and Flyers, Contractor’s Stadium/Fisher Titus Track, will see new turf installation beginning in about a week; along with the new track and a new scoreboard being put in during the first week of August.
