Two Sandusky City School students face criminal charges following a scuffle last week that was caught on cell phone video…showing one student stomping on the head of another.

According to the Sandusky Register, the female students, ages 12 and 16, are both being charged with assault…from an incident outside of Hayes Avenue school. 

The students, who were suspended 10 days each, could also face expulsion following an upcoming hearing.

 

A homeless man has been sentenced to 30-years-to-life-in-prison for the beating-death of a 2017 graduate of Black River High School.

55-year-old John Jordan Junior pled ‘guilty’ to killing 20 year old Kayla Sotherland of Huntington Township and 21 year old Ryan Fuller of Columbus.

Their bodies were found in a car, in a Columbus neighborhood, last October.

 

A Stark County man will be sentenced next month in Lorain County after pleading ‘guilty’ to several felonies.

26 year old Logan Forrer was accused of selling storage sheds on behalf of a company in Elyria, but pocketing the money and never delivering the sheds.

 

Groundbreaking took place earlier this week at the site of a new medical facility in Norwalk. 

The Surgery Center of North Central Ohio will be located on U.S. 250 adjacent to Fisher-Titus Convenient Care…with over 12,000 feet of medical space.

Construction for the 5.8 million-dollar surgery center is planned for later this fall…with plans to open by late 2020.

 

Lorain County Public Health has snagged a 65-thousand-dollar federal grant through the Ohio Department of Public Safety.

The money will be used in efforts to reduce injuries and deaths on Lorain County roads.

 

The Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce is playing host to a ‘Candidates Night’ event this evening…

…Starting at 7:00 pm at the Elks Lodge on Buckeye Boulevard

Those invited to attend, include candidates from Ottawa County, as well as Port Clinton, Marblehead, Oak Harbor and Catawba and Danbury Townships.

 

An uplifting story from Norwalk…

22-year-old Harley Belcher had his only mode of transportation, his bicycle, stolen from him while working an overnight shift at the Walmart store, about a mile from his home.

He filed a police report the next morning and walked home.

But later on that day, as Fox 8 Cleveland reported, Belcher got a call from his manager saying the store had raised over 200-dollars and purchased him a new bike as well as an attached trailer for his 1-year-old daughter.
