Both drivers were seriously hurt in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in Huron County’s Bronson Township.

According to the State Highway Patrol, a car driven by a Pennsylvania man went left of center on Greenwich Milan Town Line Road and struck another vehicle head on; driven by John Prushinski of Greenwich.

Both were eventually taken to Cleveland Metro hospital.

 

A Bellevue woman was taken to a Toledo hospital with serious injuries following a one-vehicle crash Tuesday evening in Huron County.

The State Highway Patrol says that 29-year-old Crystal Mahl was driving on Route 99 near North Greenfield Road in Greenfield Township when she drove off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch, and overturned. 

 

There were fewer fatal crashes during this year’s Labor Day weekend than in 2018.

This, according to data from the State Highway Patrol; who says 10 fatal crashes claimed 10 lives…a decrease from 2018 when 12 fatal crashes killed 12 people.

Troopers said they arrested over 600 drivers for OVI during this past holiday weekend.

 

Two women have been treated for minor injuries…

…hurt yesterday when an SUV crashed into Giovanni’s Hair Design on East Broad Street in Elyria.

The SUV took out the customer-waiting-area.

Elyria Police will determine whether any charges will be filed against the driver.

 

A man from Lorain is this week’s “Fugitive of the Week”, as designated by the U-S Marshall’s Office.

The feds consider 22-year-old Malik Rembert ‘armed and dangerous’.

Rembert is wanted by police in Lorain for allegedly firing bullets into a home…and by police in Elyria for striking a bicyclist when he tried to avoid arrest.

 

The Ohio Public Works Commission has released their 2018 Rail Statistics Report.

The numbers show that there were 66 total crashes on Ohio’s train tracks last year; 8 of them fatal…compared to 68 total and 8 fatals in 2017.

The state says 28-percent of those crashes involved someone stopping on the tracks…26-percent did not stop…and 20-percent went around gates.

 

The numbers are in, and they show, paid-admissions to this year’s Lorain County Fair topped 117-thousand.

Saturday, a near-record of more than 27-thousand…

 

Huron County Public Health has announced it will be holding a ‘tire take back day’ next month.

…Happening October 5th at the Huron County Fairgrounds

Health officials will be collecting car and light truck tires from community members to be recycled…in an attempt to help eliminate mosquito breeding grounds.

The Kalahari Convention Center near Sandusky will host some of USA Boxing’s best; this weekend.

The Cleveland Police Athletic League’s Kalahari Boxing Classic takes place this Saturday at 2:00 pm.

The event will feature golden glove champion Morelle McCain.
