The search for a missing swimmer at Nickel Plate Beach in Huron will resume this morning.
According to Huron police, 29-year-old Brittany Young of Vermilion was swimming at the beach yesterday…last seen by a line of buoys.
The Coast Guard says, there were 3 to 5 foot waves on the water and winds up to 20 miles an hour.
A 24-year-old man has been charged in the death of a man found earlier this month near the Sandusky River in Fremont.
Xavier Grine of Fremont faces a count of murder and aggravated robbery.
The body of Eric Edwards Jr. was discovered July 5th in the vicinity of the Tindall Bridge after being reported missing the day before.
As we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing over the weekend, Senators Rob Portman and Sherrod Brown announced they plan to introduce legislation to rename Sandusky’s NASA’s Plum Brook Station after Neil Armstrong.
The test facility is part of the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland; which conducts ground tests for the international aerospace community.
A line of a dozen trees have been removed on Executive Drive in Norwalk…
The Norwalk Reflector reports that the trees were taken down due to damage they were causing to nearby sidewalks.
It’s also apparently made visibility much better at close-by parking lots.
The city’s tree board says they’re planning on planting 7 trees in the fall to replace the ones that were removed.
An update on roadwork in Erie County…
The Ohio Department of Transportation says they’ll be closing the U.S. 6 ramp to Route 2 eastbound tomorrow for structure repairs.
A detour route includes taking Route 2 to Route 269; then taking the Castalia/Bay View exit, turning left at the stop sign, and reentering Route 2 eastbound.
