Choppy waters led to a close call for three men and one boy from Holmes County.
Their boat took on water and capsized yesterday afternoon, about a mile off the shores of Avon Lake.
One of the fishermen kept his cell-phone above water and called for help.
The coast guard rescued the four, and returned them to the Miller Road boat launch…with minor cuts and scrapes…
The Margaretta School Board has agreed to over a half-million dollars in cuts as the district looks to save about $2 million over the next 4 years.
According to the Sandusky Register; those cuts include a high school secretary position, reducing the Townsend Community School bus routes from 3 to 2 and reduced days in the contract of Superintendent Dennis Mock.
The state suggested that the school district cut 1 and-a-half million dollars from their operating budget…in connection with an over 7-hundred thousand dollar deficit for 2020 in their 5-year forecast.
The U-S Attorney’s Office has indicted 4 men for 2 unrelated armed robberies in Elyria.
…31-year-old Michael Ward of Lorain and 31-year-old Joseph Geiger of Cleveland…for a robbery at the Marathon gas station on Huron Street in May…

…27-year-old James Jackson of Wickliffe and 29-year-old Demario Horton…for a robbery at the Rally’s restaurant on Cleveland Street…earlier this month…
Second-half real estate tax, off-site collection, in Huron County has been scheduled for next week…all taking place from 9:00 am to 12 noon.
