Huron County/Missing Norwalk woman
A 50-year-old woman from Norwalk has been reported missing.
Arlene Brush hasn’t been seen in over two weeks…says the National Center For Missing and Endangered.
A photo of Brush and a phone number to call with any information related to Brush’s whereabouts is posted on the Norwalk Police Department’s Facebook page.
Huron County/Latest on Norwalk stabbing
Norwalk Police are asking residents for any information regarding a stabbing and robbery reported on Wednesday night near Stower Lane.
The victim, according to the Norwalk Reflector, was released from the hospital Friday after suffering non-life threatening injuries after he said he was stabbed a number of times in the stomach-area.
The victim has described the alleged suspects as two African-American males, taller than 6-foot-1.
Erie County/Police officer saves man in ice
A Sandusky Police Officer is credited for saving a man from icy waters last week.
According to the Sandusky Register, last Thursday evening, Officer Cameron Greenawalt discovered a man in the water holding on to a steel beam at Curran and Cove Streets…pulling the man onto a pier safely.
The man said he had slipped at the edge of the pier.
Huron County/Job Fair info
A hiring fair is planned for April 3rd at the Huron County Fairgrounds.
To help those prepare…interview and resume workshops are going on today and tomorrow from 9 to noon and 1 to 4 at Huron County Job and Family Services.
A “Dress for Success” event will also take place next Tuesday the 26th at Huron County Job and Family Services…to help those with interview attire.
State News/Severe Weather Week
This is “Spring Severe Weather Awareness Week” in Ohio…a time when state and local officials remind us of the dangers of severe storms…with a statewide tornado drill set for Wednesday morning.
Huron County/New administrative complex in Monroeville
A new village administrative complex is in the works in Monroeville.
The Norwalk Reflector reports that the village will open construction bids for the $3-million project in the next two to three months.
The near-8,000 square foot facility will be the home of a new police station and village offices…to be located in the place where parking lots now sit for the bank and police station on Monroe Street.
Village officials hope to open it up sometime in 2020.
Ottawa County/Kelley’s Island Ferry begins
Ferry service for Kelley’s Island starts back up today…
Multiple trips (8:00, 9:00 am, 12 noon, 3:00, 4:00 pm) to the island and back to Marblehead are scheduled for Monday through Thursday with an additional 5:00/5:30 pm trip on Friday through Sunday.
