Join K96 on Saturday morning as we broadcast live from 9 until 11 at Willard High School for the Honor Run 5K run/walk. Part of the goal for the “Honor Run” is to honor veterans by raising money so that they can take the Honor Flight.
Honor Flight is a national program whose mission is to take as many WWII veterans to see their memorials in Washington DC, and is now also open to Korean War and Vietnam veterans. Through previous fundraising efforts, Willard students have raised $4000 to sponsor 8 Honor Flight seats for veterans. The 5K proceeds go towards sponsoring future Honor Flight seats.
**Participants are treated to an official photo, the chance to dedicate their race to a veteran, and awards presented by local veterans after the race. In addition, our choir will sing the National Anthem before the race, and students are the workers along the course.
