Huron County/Fisher-Titus CEO leaving position
A change in leadership at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk…
CEO Matthew Gross is stepping down, effective March 1st.
Gross was appointed to CEO in December 2017 following top executive Lorna Stayer’s retirement.
Replacing Gross will be Brent Burkey, who was named president of Fisher-Titus Medical Center in March 2018.
Huron County/Police union deal & Sheriff’s Office body cameras
A couple of Huron County law enforcement items as reported by the Norwalk Reflector…
City Council in Norwalk has approved the collective bargaining deal with the police department‘s union…involving a 2-percent annual pay increase over the next 3 years.
Also, the Huron County Sheriff’s Office will all be wearing body cameras for the first time ever, starting on Monday.
Sheriff Todd Corbin said the 19 GoPro cameras were purchased on a four-year contract at around $13,000 annually.
Erie County/Road back open
According to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, Thomas Road between State Route 113 and Bryan Road in Oxford Township is now back open after downed power lines closed it a little after 7:00 last night.
Huron County/Willard underpass back open
After closing due to an accident on Tuesday, the Main Street railroad underpass in Willard is back open.
The city says the structure has passed an inspection by CSX.
Lorain County/First medical marijuana facility to likely open soon
Lorain County’s first medical marijuana dispensary hopes to open February 22nd.
Yesterday, state and local inspectors checked out the building on Sugar Lane in Elyria, sizing up everything from security to patient-intake.
Erie County/Health Fair on Saturday
Victory Kitchen on Hayes Avenue in Sandusky will be the site for a health fair on Saturday.
Local agencies including the Erie County Health Department, Firelands Regional Medical Center and the Lions Club will be on hand to share information and resources.
It will run from 10 to 2.
State News/Auto sales numbers
The numbers are in, and they show, January sales of new vehicles here in Northern Ohio surged 5-percent ahead of last year’s numbers.
