Huron County was back up to a Level 2 snow emergency last night.

 It’s now Level 1

 

Erie County Sheriff’s Office has canceled the Level 1 Snow Emergency!

 

Four years in prison, for a Bellevue man involved in a crowbar attack near Willard.

20-year-old Connor Holbrook was sentenced yesterday in Huron County Common Pleas Court. He’ll be eligible for early release in six months. The victim in the case, Austin Thornton suffered serious head injuries. He continues to recover. Holbrook’s friend, Tyler Smith of Bellevue is serving nine years in prison for his role in the attack. Holbrook’s girlfriend, Brianna Boonie faces will be sentenced next month, for obstructing justice.

 

Two Fostoria men were taken to the Erie County Jail, after a marijuana bust in Sandusky.

Police arrested the two yesterday, after a routine traffic stop at West Monroe and Central. Officers discovered 17 pounds of pot in the car. The two men were charged with felony marijuana trafficking, and marijuana possession.

 

Former Ottawa County Sheriff Robert Bratton has been hit with federal theft charges.

He’s accused of using $5,000 in law enforcement money to buy personal items, while in office. Bratton said he paid back the money three years ago.

 

Gas shot up nearly 30 cents yesterday, to $3.45 a gallon.

 

The Huron County Department of Job and Family Services has available funds to help individuals seeking employment.

Funding is available to pay the cost of training or education to prepare for employment in Huron County ‘demand occupations.’  Individuals who are currently unemployed or underemployed may be eligible for these funds. More potential bad news for Target customers.

If you used your credit card during Target’s massive data breach, hackers may now have your name, home address, phone number and e-mail address.  Target has assured customers they’ll have zero liability for fraudulent charges.  In other news, Target will close two Ohio stores both in the Dayton area.

 

A young boy playing with matches accidently set fire to a home in Sandusky.

Firefighters were summoned to the East Adams Street home last evening after the six-year-old boy dropped a lit match onto a pile of clothes.  The fire quickly spread through the back portion of the home.  No one was hurt.
