A Wind Chill Warning remains in effect until 9am tomorrow.
The National Weather Service Office in Cleveland has extended the Winter Weather Advisory until 7 tonight. It’s for blowing and drifting snow, and it’s for Huron, Erie, Richland, Ashland, Crawford, Seneca, Sandusky and Ottawa counties.
Huron and Erie counties have been downgraded to Level 2 snow emergencies.
That’s due mainly to ice. Contact your employer, to see if you should report to work.
Due to icy roads and drifting snow, Level 3 snow emergencies remain in effect for Seneca, Sandusky and Ottawa counties.
Level 3 means roads are closed to non-emergency personnel. It also means no one should be driving, unless it’s absolutely necessary. Employees should contact their employer to see if they should report to work. Those traveling may be subject to arrest. Do not call the sheriff’s office, asking about snow emergencies. Once there’s a change, we’ll have it on the air, and on Facebook.
All area schools are closed today.
That includes BGSU-Firelands, Terra St. Community College and Ohio Business College in Sandusky. Again, no school anywhere today.
The deep freeze continues, but relief is on the way.
By Saturday, area temperatures will be in the mid-40’s.
On tonight’s schedule:
Norwalk City Council’s regular meeting. It’s scheduled to begin at 7:30. Last night’s organizational meeting was postponed, due to extreme conditions. It was also postponed last Thursday. The Norwalk Board of Education is scheduled to meet at 7 tonight, at Norwalk High School.
