Huron, Erie, Ottawa, Sandusky and Seneca counties are under a Level 2 Snow Emergency.

That means roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow, plus ice. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work.

 

In terms of snow here, there’s not much, maybe an inch or two of new snow.

There’s much more in parts of northwest Ohio.

 

And in northeast Ohio, it’s bad enough that officials closed the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland at 3 this morning.

The casino is closed until further notice.

 

A Wind Chill Warning is in effect until 9am Wednesday.

Bitter cold conditions, along with strong winds could push Wind Chill Values as low as 40-below. Frostbite could occur in 10 minutes or less.

 

In New London, officials are investigating the death of a 25-year-old man.

Christopher Dunn was hit and killed by a train late yesterday afternoon, near North Railroad and West Main. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. Authorities are awaiting toxicology test results.

 

AEP customers will pay less for electricity, starting in 2015.

Officials have proposed a 9 percent rate reduction. For the typical household, that means an average monthly savings of up to $10.

 

Norwalk City Council will try again tonight.

An organizational meeting originally scheduled for last Thursday is now scheduled to begin at 7:30 tonight. A work session will follow. Norwalk City Council will meet in regular session tomorrow night.
