Erie County/Deliberations begin in murder plot trial

Jury deliberations began yesterday in Erie County in the trial against a Margaretta Township man accused of plotting to kill his wife while already in prison for already trying to kill her.

64-year-old Gary Moore is imprisoned in Mansfield from a 2016 incident where he shot at his wife.

Moore allegedly offered a soon-to-be paroled inmate $50,000 to carry out the murder.

 

Huron County/Norwalk drug bust arrests

Eight people were arrested after Huron County authorities conducted two separate drug-related search warrants in Norwalk over the last week.

The drug busts took place last Friday on Unity Lane and Monday on South Old State Road.

Ages of those arrested range from 16 to 32.

 

Erie County/Huron water rates remain the same

For the 12th straight year, water rates in Huron will remain the same.

City officials have once again vetoed a proposal to increase how much customer’s pay; which stands at around $18 per month.

 

Erie County/Sandusky landlord-tenant relations

The city of Sandusky is looking to improve landlord-tenant relations.

A new program has been created to educate both sides on rental-related concerns.

The Landlord and Tenant Outreach Program will meet quarterly starting in January at City Hall with guest speakers scheduled to discuss a wide range of topics.

 

Erie County/Free Sandusky transit rides on Election Day

On Election Day, next Tuesday, Sandusky city officials are offering up free rides on their Transit SPARC buses for those heading out to cast a ballot.

The rides usually cost $1.50.

 

Erie County/Jehovah’s Witness worship hall coming to be built

Officials in Perkins Township recently approved a site plan for a Jehovah’s Witness worship hall.

Construction is scheduled to get underway in the fall and be open by early next summer at the corner of State Route 4 and West Bogart Road.
