Sandusky County/ O’Connell-Myers-Bogle case

A June trial has been ordered for former Sandusky County sheriff’s detective Sean O’Connell.

O’Connell faces several charges including tampering with evidence, and obstructing official business in connection with the Heather Bogle homicide investigation.

Bogle was found dead in 2015 after being reported missing a day earlier after leaving her job at Whirlpool in Clyde.

Accused killer in the case, 43-year-old Daniel Myers of Green Creek Township, had his pretrial hearing pushed back until April 23rd.

 

Port Clinton/Mental evaluation for pharmacy robbery suspect

A mental evaluation has been ordered for one of the men accused of robbing the pharmacy at Port Clinton’s Magruder Hospital in February.

46-year-old Clark Sams has been charged with multiple felonies including complicity to drug theft after he allegedly drove the getaway vehicle for Joshua Trapp; who allegedly showed a gun and demanded prescription painkillers.

 

Sandusky/Woman now faces animal cruelty charges

A woman charged with child endangerment Tuesday after being found in a Sandusky hotel room covered in dog excrement faces new charges.

21-year-old Dezeray Powell has now been charged with three felony animal cruelty offenses after authorities found her, a young child and three Great Danes at the Howard Johnson on U.S. 250.

 

Perkins Township/No charges for high school student‘s video

A high school student at Perkins won’t face criminal charges in connection with a YouTube video that received several complaints.

Authorities have dropped a two-week-old case involving 18-year-old Jerry Fantozzi and a video last month that included props resembling drugs and firearms.

Officials say the video is artistic and does not make threats towards anyone.

 

Norwalk/New business districts

City council in Norwalk has approved two ordinances that will welcome possible future businesses.

Two business districts have been created, business amusement and transportation.

City officials say the new legislation will set aside areas for the potential businesses to be located.

 

Norwalk/Limited spring pickup

The City of Norwalk wants to remind residents that Limited Spring Pickup will be next week, on residents’ trash day.

Households will be allowed to set out three large items or nine extra trash bags for pickup at no additional charge.

The pickup will be limited to household items only; and are restricted to items that two sanitation employees are able to lift.
