Port Clinton/Pharmacy robbery suspects arrested
Two men have been arrested in connection with the armed robbery Tuesday at the pharmacy at Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton.
35 year-old Joshua Trapp was charged with aggravated robbery and drug theft after authorities say he pointed a gun at pharmacy workers and demanded drugs.
46 year-old Clark Sams was reportedly the get-away driver.
Sams faces complicity to commit aggravated robbery and complicity to commit theft of drugs charges.
Huron County/New London man: fake drug sample
A New London man is in jail after he allegedly brought in a fake sample for a drug test.
32 year-old Shawn Willis was arrested Tuesday and charged with tampering with evidence and a probation violation after bringing in a sample he reportedly claimed to be his to the Norwalk Police Department.
Sandusky/Man faces drug charges
A 50 year-old Sandusky man has been charged with felony drug possession.
Randy Slater was pulled over by authorities Wednesday evening; where police say they found pills that Slater did not have a prescription for.
Slater was also charged with driving under suspension.
Sandusky/Reported break-in at phone store
Police are investigating a break-in at cell phone store in Sandusky early Thursday morning.
Authorities say that a group of four youths threw a brick through a window of the Metro PCS on West Perkins Avenue.
One of the suspects reportedly entered the store; but nothing was taken.
Erie County/Sheriff’s year-end report
The Erie County Sheriff’s Office has released its year-end report.
Narcotics incidents increased over 40 percent from 2016 to 2017 with 164 reported.
Sex-offense crimes stayed the same from last year at 32 incidents.
Nearly 150 citations were issued for OVI in Erie County in 2017, up 13 percent from 2016.
Erie County/Margaretta man enters commissioner race
A Margaretta Township man who spent 30-plus years as a firefighter and township trustee has submitted his petition to enter the race for Erie County Commissioner.
Democrat Tim Riesterer is running for the seat to be vacated by Bill Monaghan; who will not seek a fourth term.
Riesterer will join former Sandusky city commissioner Julie Farrar, Huron city councilman Brad Hartung and B-A-S Broadcasting News Director Steve Shoffner; who are all after the same seat.
The primary election takes place this May.
