Search warrants executed in Put-in-Bay on Thursday
Search warrants were executed Thursday by state and federal authorities at seven locations on Put-in-Bay as part of an ongoing joint investigation into the village.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, FBI and IRS assisted in the raid that included properties owned by the mayor of Put-in-Bay Bernard McCann and Jet Express founder Keith Blumensaadt.
The Sandusky Register reports that the probes appear to be linked to a state investigation of the mayor and other village officials.
More blighted properties to be tore down in Erie County
Eight dilapidated properties are on the list to be demolished soon in Erie County.
Local officials are looking to tear down seven structures in Sandusky and one property in Perkins Township.
The Erie County Land Bank looks to have the demolitions done by October.
New London man facing prison time
A man from New London is heading to jail for assault.
43 year-old Brian Pickett pled guilty Wednesday to attempted felonious assault in Huron County Common Pleas Court; resulting in a 3 ½ year prison sentence.
Willard woman going to jail for drug crimes
A 40 year-old Willard woman has been sentenced to four years in prison for drug crimes.
Dolores Ceja of Myrtle Avenue was convicted of four counts of drug trafficking.
Ceja was also charged three years ago with cocaine and heroin trafficking .
Norwalk man in trouble for dump truck spill
A Norwalk man received a citation after his dump truck spilled sludge on Camp Street in Sandusky on Wednesday.
31 year-old Matthew Dawson was cited for an unsecured load as he was transporting mud and sludge for road repairs on Venice Road.
Norwalk and Sandusky hosting Hurricane Harvey relief efforts
Here’s a look at a few of the many local collection drives in support of victims of Hurricane Harvey.
Stierhoff Moving and D&A Service Center in Sandusky have joined together to host a Hurricane Harvey relief drive.
You can help fill up a tractor trailer with items including water and canned food at D&A Service on Columbus Avenue today and tomorrow until 6:00 pm.
A collection drive for hurricane victims in Texas is also taking place at Vacation Land Credit Union in Norwalk and Norwalk Eagles Club on Cline Avenue. Those items will be collected through September 15th.
