Ohio State Highway Patrol investigating triple fatality crash
Three young adults from Ottawa County were killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Salem Township, southeast of Oak Harbor.
It happened when a car driven by 19-year-old Cora Roob of Port Clinton pulled out in front of a truck on Oak Harbor Southeast Road; after stopping at a stop sign on Muddy Creek North Road.
Roob and her two passengers, 19-year-old Barbara Redfern of Oak Harbor and another unnamed young adult, all died in the crash.
Police searching for suspects in Sandusky shooting
Sandusky authorities are continuing to look into possible suspects in Wednesday night’s fatal shooting in the MacArthur Park area.
46-year-old Anthony Pearson of Sandusky was shot and killed during the incident.
His body was found in the driver’s seat of a truck that was parked on Parkview Boulevard.
Ohio State Highway Patrol OVI Checkpoint on SR 4 at Bone Creek Dr.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol have announced that an OVI checkpoint will be held in Erie County tonight
It will take place from 9:00 to 11:00 pm on State Route 4 at Bone Creek Drive in Perkins Township.
The OVI checkpoint is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
Norwalk Area United Fund celebrating passing goal
The Norwalk Area United Fund is celebrating the passing of its 2017 campaign goal of $360,000.
The United Fund will be recognizing their total of over $381,000 raised by serving lemonade at tonight’s ‘Imagine Norwalk’ festival.
New Bicentennial Jaycee Park unveiled: ‘Gem in the crown of Norwalk’
Norwalk city officials held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Bicentennial Jaycee Park on Thursday afternoon.
The new park on Pleasant Street, costing $150,000, includes playground equipment, a pavilion, a tennis court and two pickleball courts; as well as six parking spaces, four of them handicap accessible.
Plans are also in the works for a nearby basketball hoop and ping-pong table/shuffleboard area.
State sales tax holiday happening this weekend
Ohio’s annual sales tax holiday runs today through Sunday.
During the sales tax holiday, the following items are exempt from sales and use tax: clothing priced at $75 per item or less and school supplies and instructional materials priced at $20 per item or less.
Rally Saturday in Bellevue for those affected by drug addiction
The non-profit organization, Four County Recovery, will hold a rally on Saturday afternoon in Bellevue for those affected by addiction.
It will take place from 3:00 to 7:00 pm in Central Park and include inspirational speakers as well as live music and food vendors.
