Expect cooler temperatures and less humid conditions this week.

We might not hit 80 until Saturday.

 

Labor Day weekend is in the books.

Thousands of people flocked to the Melon Festival in Milan and the Firelands Festival in New London. Thousands more went to the islands, to see the Tall Ships, and watch a re-enactment of the Battle of Lake Erie.

 

A four-car crash at the entrance to Camp Perry has left two people dead.

78-year-old Jerald Zimmer of Fremont died yesterday at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. His wife, 74-year-old Roseanne Zimmer was pronounced dead at the scene. Seven others, ranging in age from 7 to 56 were injured in the Monday afternoon crash. According to the highway patrol, Zimmer was on Route 2, when he failed to yield while turning into Camp Perry. His car was hit by a van. Two other cars were hit as well. The highway patrol continues to investigate.

 

A Norwalk man is facing a burglary charge after he was caught inside a Seitz Way home. 

30-year-old Kelly Still was arrested early Sunday morning, a short time after he was found standing over two sleeping juveniles.  Reports indicate Still was intoxicated.  He was taken to the Huron County Jail.

Prospect Street, between Energy Street and Main Street in New London will close today, for a bridge replacement project. The road should re-open in early December.

 

Ford is recalling 370,000 cars, due to potential problems with steering.

The list includes 2005 to 2011 Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Cars. Some of those cars were sold in Ohio.

 

Norwalk City Council will meet in regular session, at 7:30 tonight, in the Norwalk Muni Courtroom.

The Huron Board of Education will meet in special session at 5pm tomorrow, to discuss contract negotiations. The meeting will take place at Shawnee Elementary.
