Sandusky woman dead of apparent suicide in Ottawa County Jail
A Sandusky inmate in the Ottawa County Jail died of apparent suicide on Monday.
A corrections officer found 28 year-old Krista Mitchell on Monday evening as he going through a security check.
Mitchell had been serving time for drug-related charges.
Greenwich man charged with rape
A Greenwich man has been indicted on rape charges.
58 year-old Patrick Taft Junior has been charged with five counts of rape and five counts of sexual battery reportedly involving a minor.
The suspected acts took place between August of 2015 and February 7th of this year.
He faces multiple years of prison time if found guilty.
Bellevue man charged with aggravated robbery in Sandusky
A Bellevue man made threats to shoot a gas station employee in a robbery on Campbell Street in Sandusky on Tuesday.
The Sandusky Register reports that 28 year-old Michael McConnell was arrested outside the Speedway gas station almost immediately after the incident.
McConnell was charged with aggravated robbery as well as inducing panic.
He’s also believed to have approached the Friendship gas station on West Perkins in Sandusky before entering the station on Campbell Street.
No firearm was found on McConnell.
Marijuana growing operation found near Willard
A Willard man has been charged with cultivation of marijuana after an indoor growing operation was found just outside the city on Monday.
During the investigation, Mark McKeehen told authorities he was producing medical grade marijuana.
Executed search warrants in Willard and Holiday Lakes found evidence including marijuana plants, marijuana prepared to distribute, growing equipment, firearms, and financial documents.
McKeehen may face additional charges.
Less than a week away from ‘State of the State’ in Sandusky
Governor John Kasich will bring his ‘State of the State’ address to Sandusky in less than a week.
Chris Parthemore, from the Sandusky State Theater – where the speech will take place, said he owes a lot of credit to Representative Steve Arndt and Senator Randy Gardner for bringing Kasich to Sandusky.
Kasich will deliver the address on Tuesday, April 4th at 7:00 pm.

The weekly food fundraiser for the Norwalk Area United Fund stops by The Freight House in Norwalk today.
A portion of today’s sales during the ‘Dine-out’ event at The Freight House will be donated to the United Fund’s 2017 Community Campaign.
The ‘Dine-out’ fundraiser has brought in over $20,000.
