Norwalk City Council debates medicinal marijuana

Debate continued last night for Norwalk City Council on the hot button issue of medicinal marijuana cultivation inside city limits.

4th Ward Councilman Chris Castle said that signs are pointing towards the issue passing in Norwalk; according to last night’s numbers from council.

The discussion has been tabled by council for a second reading at their next meeting on April 4th.

Statewide Tornado Drill to take place this morning

This marks Ohio Spring Severe Weather Awareness Week.

Huron County EMA Interim Director Jason Roblin told WLKR News that this week is all about preparation; including today’s statewide tornado drill, taking place at 9:50 am.

For those also interested in becoming a tornado spotter for the National Weather Service, a program will be held at the Willard Elementary Café on April 11th.

 

Willard High School hosting ‘Family Night’ this evening

The Willard Police Department and Willard City Schools are playing host to ‘Family Night – Willard Community Night’ at the Willard High School gym this evening.

The event features Reggie Dabbs, a nationally known, motivational youth speaker.

It gets underway at 6:00 pm.

 

Norwalk hiring police dispatcher

The City of Norwalk is hiring for a full-time police dispatcher.

The deadline to submit an application is April 20th; which includes a $20 examination fee.

United Fund’s ‘Dine-Out’ fundraiser at East of Chicago today

You can dine out for the ‘fund’ of it today at East of Chicago Pizza in Norwalk.

The weekly fundraiser for the Norwalk Area United Fund makes a stop there today; where a portion of today’s revenue will go to support the fund’s 37 local programs and grants.
